Security is something that everyone wants, needs and most times expects regardless of their station in life, location or situation. We depend on our government to provide national level security, our state and city to provide regional and local security services. This leaves our individual security (to include that of our families) and security while at work as the two security outliers. Many people believe that the company for whom they work will provide a reasonable expectation of security and unfortunately in most cases ignore their personal security almost completely. Both of these issues can and do lead to “significant emotional events” unfortunately when something does occur; this is usually a direct result of a lack of focus on security by both parties and truth be told, security is everyone’s responsibility, employee and employer. The reality is that neither party is truly suited to deal with this issue completely and each is relying on the other for certain aspects.
